Sunday morning baby snuggles! Daddy and girls were up this morning at 6:45. Since I was up four times last night with the babies, daddy handled all the girls and I slept in until 9am! HOLLER! . A rested mama makes for a much more pleasant Sunday! That said, we still haven’t made it back to church because we’re just too exhausted by time Sunday mornings come. I promise I nurse my girls religiously though! 🙌🏻 . This portrait is an example of why I so highly suggest a really comfy recliner if you’re expecting, especially with multiples. They’re big enough now that I don’t need a boppy and can just use the armrest instead! . #sundaysnuggles #twins #twinmom #twinmomlife #breastisbest #breastfeeding #tandemnursing #twinsisters

Sometimes sleep training and crying it out is for the birds. We’re a work in progress and nothing can be perfected overnight. We’ve been working on it the last few nights. It’s soooo different with two. . . One of my first problems is logistical. I nurse them both in the rocking chair and they usually fall asleep within a few minutes. But then having two sleeping babies on and transferring them each to their own crib without dropping them or waking them up?! (My husband is usually laying down the older two at that time.) By the time I get up out of the chair carefully with both of them, inevitably one has woken up. The last two nights I have failed miserably at the transfer! So tonight I decided to go back to old faithful and nurse them in bed and take them to their cribs individually. . SUCCESS!!! . Somehow we managed to get all four in bed and asleep before 8pm!!! WITH NO TEARS OR RAISED VOICES! That is truly a miracle in itself. I think the fact that we have tried to keep the older two busy with activities today helped. (Yesterday was gymnastics class and today swimming and a hike at the park.) Stay tuned to see how continued sleep training goes and wish this tired mama luck! (Now for a deserved glass of red wine! 🍷) . #breastfeeding #breastfeedwithoutfear #tandemnursing #twins #twinmom #twinmomlife #twinning #babysister #feedingwithlove #parentwithoutfear

This has been an interesting week in our twin breastfeeding journey. The girls both cut their bottom teeth around Christmas, which ended up not being a problem because their tongue has to go over those teeth in order to latch. (Never noticed that until recently.) However, in the last couple weeks they both cut their top two teeth and just today I saw two more on the top starting to come in!!! NOOOOO! 😫😫😫 . If you are a breastfeeding mom who has gone long enough to get to the teeth cutting stage, you hear my cries. You hear my gasps. You hear my yelps! This is not a fun, sweet stage of breastfeeding. This is a raw (sometimes literally!) stage. . My nipples freaking HURT. As my twins and I go through this journey together, this is one more stage. My nipples hadn’t needed to toughen up at all with these two because they were still pretty good from the previous two nurslings. But now with the teeth assisting with their latching on, this is painful. . Just like we had to work together in the beginning to figure this all out, especially the tandem aspect, this is another chapter we will have to figure out. I switched the girls around because Aria’s latch isn’t as painful and it worked out perfectly. I’m hoping the more they get used to these new things in their mouth and see that it hurts mommy, they’ll figure out how not to chomp down. . PS – sleep training is going good. They have been sleeping 4+ hour stretches. I go in and nurse them both 1-2 times a night and that’s not bad. The other night Aria slept from 8pm to almost 6am! That was amazing. Now if they could both do that…on the same night! . ✨ STILL HOLDING HANDS ✨ . #breastfeedwithoutfear #breastfeeding #breastisbest #normalizebreastfeeding #tandemnursing #twins #twinmom #momlife #babysister

I first started to caption this portrait with a day or weekend in the life of a mama of four who just completed a weekend which included a party for my oldest daughter turning 4 (and 10 of her friends) and also being the Easter Bunny of five daughters, four of which are under 4. . As I continued the caption and tried to even remotely encapsulate all that it entails, I realized for me to truly depict what it looks like, the post would be more like a novella. . So many outfit changes. So many diaper changes. So many places to go requiring packing and unpacking the van. So many loads of laundry. So many nursing sessions while thinking about my list of other things that still have to be done. So many moments of overtired children…and adults. So many outbursts. So many hugs. So many kisses. So much love. So much beauty. So worth it. . This portrait is a tired Easter Bunny mama and her tired, yet full bellied and full of love, bunnies. . #easter2018 #easter2018🐣 #feedingwithlovesubmission #twinpregnancy #40weekspregnant #39weekspregnant #normalizebreastfeeding #normalisebreastfeeding #thirdtrimester #momming #momsohard #sleepingbaby #sleepingbabies #latchedmama #tandemnursing #breastfeedingmama #breastfeeding #bfing #breastfeedingmom #breastfedbaby #breastfed #breastisbest #lactation #tiredasamother #momminainteasy

Tomorrow is my first Mother’s Day with all four of my girls. This is technically my fourth being a Mother. Each one has been so different. This marks four years of almost consecutively nursing all my babies. What a beautiful sacrifice we give as mothers! Carry and grow in our bodies for ten months, go through the biggest life changing experience of child birth forcing us to realize the true POWER which lies within us, followed by the continued selfless act of breastfeeding and mothering in general. . Prior to becoming a mother, I thought I knew who I was. I knew only a tiny sliver. Everything changed and yet and I am more me (now) than I ever was (before).* Becoming a mother has made me realize truly how being a parent is the most selfless act. . Our lives (and in many cases our physical bodies) are no longer our own. Our worlds revolve around these little humans we have chosen to bring into this world. I remember when I became a first time mom thinking will these sleepless nights ever end?! When will my body start to feel better? Will it ever feel better? And slowly sleep got back to normal as did my body. Before I knew it, my new baby was a year old and the sleepless nights were a distant memory. . As is the case, sleepless nights, with the twins also. When you’re in the thick of it, always remember the days and nights may be long, but the time is very short. Take advantage of the moments. Revel in the soft skin and soft hair and sweet smells and hours of skin to skin. It goes by so fast. . I am curious how other moms celebrate their Mothers Days. Do you snuggle kiddos all day? Do you go out to brunch? Do your mama duties never skip a beat? Massages, manis, pedis? What been your favorite gift? Does your spouse have any special traditions? . Wishing all mamas the best day tomorrow, filled with whatever it is that makes YOU happy! 😍 . #momlifeisthebestlife #eternalmotherhood #motherhoodrising #joyfulmamas #clickinmoms #our_everyday_moments #dailyparenting #momswithcameras #ig_motherhood #letthembelittle #motherhoodsimplified #bestofmom #momtogs #uniteinmotherhood #cameramama #mothermag #normalizebreastfeeding #tandemnursing #pregnantwithtwins #thirdtrimester

Sei also gespannt!
